Projection Lighting has completed a major expansion to its Manchester factory, with an investment of £2m effectively doubling the space to 2,300 sq m.
The additional space is required for additional office space and assembly of the successful AlphaLED product, which represents 35 per cent of Projection’s current turnover, half of which is exported.
MD, Gary Heald says that turnover is now above pre-recession level: ‘We started exporting the AlphaLED just twelve months ago and are now predicting business growth of 25 per cent each year for the next two years, with exports representing our largest customer sector. We’ve come of age!’
The AlphaLED universal open is the first LED fitting to be Energy Saving recommended and it recently won the Lighting Association’s commercial product of the year.
